What does PRP do for the skin?

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is the liquid gold of the blood that contains vital stem cells and all-important growth factors to help rejuvenate the skin, restore collagen, and heal damage. When combined with micro-needling, it penetrates the deep layers of the skin. It can heal and reduce fine lines and wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation, acne scars and stretchmarks.

After a consultation with the doctor to determine your primary facial goals, you are now ready to receive PRP. It is a easy and safe procedure with few side effects.

  1. Take a small blood sample

  2. Separate the PRP cells from the other blood cells

  3. Numb the face with a topical cream

  4. Perform microneedling that will allow the PRP to penetrate the dermis

  5. Apply the PRP

  6. Let the healing process begin

The process generally takes less than an hour. You may notice some mild inflammation for the next 24-48 hours.

Typically people begin to see results within 1-2 weeks and the healing will continue for the next 6 months. At that time the tissue will be permanently restored.
