What are Growth Factors?
Growth factors are a special group of proteins. They turn on essential activities within a cell to help it function. When we lack growth factors, we age. When we introduce new growth factors to the body via PRP we can regrow tissue and rejuvenate that part of the body. Growth factors maintain the skin’s youthful appearance by increasing cell renewal, cell defense, blood circulation and collagen and elastin production.
Free radicals are the enemy of growth factors. Environmental exposure to chemicals, sun and even sugar cause excessive free radicals that damage the body's cellular components. The result is a breakdown of regular cellular activities....aka...aging occurs.
In multiple studies, topically applied Growth Factors have been shown to reduce the signs of aging, reducing fine lines and wrinkles by increasing dermal collagen synthesis. Also shortened healing time of burn scars and restored normal hair growth have been outcomes.
What Growth Factors do:
Promote improved conditions for healing with reduced inflammation
Signals naturally occurring peptide and protein molecules
Control cellular growth, proliferation, healing and differentiation
